1. Purpose

branding & claims

The objective is to ensure that the public can distinguish between (a) an entity’s licensed status and scope, and (b) the NLA as the issuing licensing authority. Authority symbols may not be used as commercial branding.

2. Core rules

mandatory
  • Accuracy: Any license reference must match the NLA verification record (name, number, status, scope).
  • No implied endorsement: Do not imply NLA “approval”, “guarantee”, or “backing”.
  • No authority-symbol branding: NLA crest/seal may not be used as a company logo, favicon, banner, or watermark.
  • Scope clarity: If scope is limited, it must not be described as broader permissions.

3. Permitted vs prohibited examples

examples
Type Example wording / use Notes
Permitted “Licensed by the Neves Licensing Authority for [activity].” Must remain consistent with the verification record.
Permitted “license status verifiable via NLA Verify license.” Link directly to /verify-license.
Prohibited “Regulated by NLA” / “NLA regulated broker” Avoid sovereign/regulatory implications; use “licensed”.
Prohibited NLA crest/seal used as a brand mark on websites, emails, ads. Authority symbols are reserved for official NLA documents.
Prohibited “Government approved / official partner” Do not imply endorsement or guarantees.
Practical standard: If a marketing statement cannot be verified in 30 seconds via the NLA verification interface, it should not be published.

4. Affiliate and introducer controls

third parties
  • Licensees remain responsible for the accuracy of statements made by affiliates/introducers acting on their behalf.
  • Provide standard approved wording to external partners.
  • Maintain evidence of partner communications and corrective actions where needed.
